  • Address: Lake Road, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5DJ

What’s so special about the Foreshore? It’s one of the Lake District’s most beautiful places where you can take in some stunning views of Derwentwater and mountains. It’s also the gateway into Borrowdale, one of the most spectacular valleys in the North Lakes.

The Derwent Water Foreshore Project is a partnership project hosted by the National Trust and funded principally by the Heritage Lottery Fund amongst others.

Take in a short stroll along the shore to the famous viewpoint of Friars Crag and absorb the spectacular vista towards the craggy Jaws of Borrowdale. You can hire a boat to explore the lake, or take the Keswick Launch to one of the many landing spots to have a walk or a picnic. Or just simply feed the ducks!
